Dr Penelope Aligiannis does not bulk bill. There will be a private fee for all consultations including recall appointments, telephone consultations, prescription renewals and referrals. Dr Joseph Sous bulk bills all concession and healthcare card holders for standard consultations. He also bulk bills mental health care plans and childhood vaccinations.
Fees are subject to change. Fees are time based, reflective of the actual time spent with the doctor and/or nurse, not the time booked. Patients are therefore encouraged to be mindful of the time spent with the doctor. To help with time management, new patients are allocated 30 minutes with Dr Penelope Aligiannis and 20 minutes with Dr Joseph Sous. Standard appointments for regular patients with one concern are 10-15 minutes long. Longer consultations are available for patients with more than one concern or to complete care plans which are much more complex. A Medicare rebate, calculated based on the time spent with the doctor only (not the nurse), will apply to Medicare card holders for Medicare covered consultations. Patients registered with Dr Aligiannis or Dr Joseph Sous through My Medicare will be entitled to additional Medicare rebates as outlined below. Due to legislation changes, phone consultations are unable to be bulk-billed. A Medicare rebate will only apply to phone consultations for patients who have visited the practice for a face-to-face service in the last 12 months.

We accept payment by cash, direct deposit, credit card, debit card or through the HotDoc app. Please note that credit and debit card payments, as well as payments through the HotDoc app incur an additional surcharge.
Most general medical services will be eligible for a Medicare Rebate which reduces your out-of-pocket cost. We can help you claim your Medicare Rebate in the following ways:
– on-the-spot using our Easyclaim EFTPOS facility if you use a debit card (savings or cheque account)
– we can send your claim off to Medicare online and they will usually deposit it into your Medicare-linked bank account within 48 hours
– or you can take your receipt to a Medicare office or use the MyGov app to claim your rebate.
