Dr Penelope Aligiannis is the Principal Specialist General Practitioner at Your Padstow Doctors Plus. She established the Padstow based Practice in 2018.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Newcastle in 2008. Following this, she graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) as an Associate Investigator with the Department of Intensive Care at St George Public Hospital, Kogarah. She completed her internship and residency at both Bankstown and Campbelltown Public Hospitals, focusing on Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Aged Care and Vascular Surgery. She obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2014, and has been working as a Specialist General Practitioner ever since. She is currently enrolled in a Graduate Certificate in Autism to help advocate for neurodiverse children and their families.
Her professional interests include children’s health, women’s health, family planning, antenatal care, lifestyle medicine, screening and preventative medicine, mental health and work cover. Dr Penelope Aligiannis provides Antenatal Shared Care with Sutherland, St George and Bankstown Public Hospitals. In addition to English, Dr Penelope Aligiannis speaks fluent Greek.
Dr Penelope Aligiannis prides herself in being an advocate for her patients, and providing holistic evidence based multidisciplinary care in her aim to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. Her professional interests and work ethic reflect her personal life as a wife to a loving and supportive husband; as a blessed mum to her gorgeous daughter and twin boys; as a daughter to proud working class parents; and as a second generation Greek Orthodox Australian with a strong sense of community, who grew up in both the Bankstown and Sutherland areas.
